Broodjes

Broodjes are small Dutch sandwiches with herring, vegetables or chicken.

The most popular ones are the herring ones. The canals are lined with fish stalls. It consists of a small loaf of bread that is spread with butter or not. It is topped with a very fresh raw herring, onions and gherkins.

You can find them in kiosks, markets and fast food restaurants. The FoodHallen is of course no exception. The Big Fish is an address to note for those who want to try it.

Our review

Although the presence of pickles softened the raw character of the whole herring, this sandwich is not to everyone's liking, the taste is strong and pronounced. Better to try other more vegan broodjes perhaps.
